Today I want to explain how to prepare kibbeh, which can be both boiled and fried. I have already presented the recipe for stuffed meatballs here. Therefore, I tell you that you can prepare ready-made and frozen stuffed meatballs directly, without sharing the recipe again.

Stuffed meatballs, also known as Oruk, is a dish made of bulgur that came to Turkish cuisine from Arabic cuisine (Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt) and is stuffed in dough. In Arabic cuisine, it is actually called “Kibbe” or “Kubbeh” because it means “round” in Arabic. Since it is difficult and labor intensive to prepare stuffed meatballs, it is classified as a specialty dish rather than a regular dish .Boiled kibbeh are always ideal for those who want a milder flavor instead of frying.

  • 8 pieces kibbeh

  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon salt

  • 1/2 dessert spoon salt

  • 1 dessert spoon tomato paste


  • We put our water in a deep pot and bring it to a boil. The water should be high enough to cover the stuffed meatballs.
  • We add tomato paste, salt and lemon salt to our water.
  • While the water is boiling, we throw our stuffed meatballs in and cook them for 10-15 minutes.
  • We take out the cooked stuffed meatballs with the help of a sieve and serve them hot.

How Many Days Can The Kibbeh Be Stored In The Refrigerator?

You can prepare the meatballs the night before, cover them with cling film and freeze them in the refrigerator or on a tray until the next day, then collect them in a suitable container and store them in the freezer for up to 6 months.

Deep preservation of kibbeh requires a temperature of -18 to 20 degrees. You can freeze your kibbeh in two different ways. After frying, you can store the stuffed patties in the freezer without cooking them.
